About Stadtküken Kita Glockenturm Hamburg-Harburg
Stadtküken Kita Glockenturm opens in February 2027 at Neue Straße 44, in the middle of Harburg's town centre. A listed brick church is being turned into a home for 170 children aged 0 to 6, in six nursery groups and five kindergarten groups. Stadtküken's approach focuses on nature and mindfulness: lots of time outdoors, fixed rituals and trips to Harburg's town park.
The story behind it
"Where the bells of the tower once called the neighbourhood together, the Stadtküken move in from February 2027. The conversion keeps the old building fabric and adds a new storey built sustainably in timber – creating bright rooms with a character of their own. A sheltered courtyard right next to the former nave and outdoor areas with old trees give children room to run, climb and dig, in the middle of the city. The Glockenturm stays what it always was: a meeting place at the heart of the neighbourhood."
