Our evaluation criteria

Nine points we look at for every Kita in this ranking – transparent and the same for all.

Data-based · Experiences

Parent reviews

The overall score comes from reviewfinder.org and pools several review platforms. We always look at the score together with the number of reviews.

01

Data-based · Count and sources

Reliability of the reviews

A handful of reviews is easily skewed. We include Kitas with five or more reviews and show for every entry how many sources the score comes from.

02

Professional · Profile

Educational concept

Nature education, movement, bilingualism or an open concept: we check whether the profile is clearly described and visible in daily life.

03

Professional · Age groups

Range of care

Nursery, kindergarten, pre-school: the more continuously a child can be accompanied from settling in to starting school, the better.

04

Professional · Arriving

Settling in

A gentle, well-structured start makes a big difference. We look at how the Kita describes settling in and what parents report about it.

05

Practical · Facilities

Rooms and outdoor area

Garden, movement room, art studio or places for trips nearby: the facilities decide how much room children have to play and explore.

06

Practical · Work-life balance

Opening hours

How early does the Kita open and how long does it stay open? Reliable, long enough care hours count positively for working parents.

07

Service · Cooperation

Communication with parents

Development talks, approachable management and clear information: how well parents are involved shows clearly in the reviews.

08

Editorial · Maintenance

Up to date

We review the order twice a year and remove entries whose details are no longer correct or whose website can no longer be reached.

09

Note: The assessment is an editorial judgement based on publicly available information and the reviews pooled at reviewfinder.org. It does not replace visiting the Kita in person.
